You’re not trying to “do school at home.”
You’re trying to build something deeper.
A rhythm. A culture.
A way of learning that grows a lifelong love of learning.
A way of learning rooted in the belief that your children are capable.
If that resonates with you, we already have something in common.
Because this is exactly where Discovery Grove Learning Co. began.
I’ve been homeschooling for seven years now—starting earlier than I needed to. If I could go back, I wouldn’t rush into teaching my three-year-old how to read. I would protect more space for unstructured play, for curiosity, for simply being little.
But even then, I was trying to build something—not just follow a checklist. I was taking ideas off the page and turning them into something we could actually live out together. What began in uncertainty slowly shifted. I moved from a place of fear—of falling behind, of getting it wrong—to building something rooted in curiosity, wonder, and a genuine love of learning.
When I became a parent, that perspective changed the way I approached everything. I wasn’t just choosing how to educate my children. I was choosing how they would see themselves as learners and, honestly, as people. And I knew I wanted something different.
What Discovery Grove Learning Co. Is Built On
Discovery Grove Learning Co. grew out of that conviction.
Here, we believe:
- Learning should be rooted in living ideas and meaningful stories
- Education works best when it is shared across ages, not separated
- Subjects are meant to connect, not compete for time
- Children grow through habits of attention, thinking, and imagination
- A sustainable rhythm matters more than a perfect plan
This is not about doing more. It’s about building something that actually works in real life.
What This Looks Like in Your Home
In practice, this means your days don’t feel fragmented.
- You gather together around a story.
- You explore ideas through conversation, writing, and hands-on work.
- You build skills over time—not through pressure, but through use and exploration.
- Children of different ages learn together, each engaging at their own level.
And slowly, steadily, learning becomes part of the culture of your home.
I have seen what happens when children begin to believe they are “behind,” “struggling,” or “not academic.”
And I have seen what happens when that narrative is replaced with something better.
When children are given time...
When they are trusted...
When learning is meaningful...
They grow.
Not just in skill—but in confidence, curiosity, and ownership.
Discovery Grove Learning Co. wasn’t built from theory alone. It was born in the middle of real days, with real children, and real limitations.
And, I must say, my own love of learning has never been stronger than it is now—learning alongside my children. The joy is unmatched.
What We’re Building
This is not a single curriculum.
Discovery Grove Learning Co. is a growing ecosystem designed to support the whole of home education:
- Literature-based studies that anchor learning
- Daily practices that build habits and attention
- Interdisciplinary units that connect subjects naturally
- Planning tools that help you sustain a rhythm
Everything is designed to work together—so you don’t have to piece it all together on your own.
If you’re looking for a way to build a homeschool that feels connected, thoughtful, and sustainable—
You’re in the right place.

The beginning of SOmething Different
That shift changed everything.
My background in education shaped this deeply. I studied English literature and composition, worked in writing centers, and taught in middle and high school classrooms across a wide range of learning environments. And what I saw over and over again were children who had already decided they weren’t learners.
Not because they weren’t capable, but because of the way learning had been framed for them.
The labels.
The pressure.
The quiet belief that they were already behind.
This didn't start as a curriculum brand. It started with a conviction.
