Noticing Nature is designed to inspire the noticing of just how beautiful the world is. This Practice of Poetry journal pairs beautiful, classic poems with encouragement for children to observe and notice the nature around them.
Through this gentle, daily practice, children strengthen their
habit of attention,
observation,
memory and even
imagination. Students will observe their world around them, illustrate their observations, connect ideas, and memorize poetry. All while improving upon their handwriting and internalizing language structures through purposeful copywork.
Poems and poets featured in the Noticing Nature journal include:
- The Swing by Robert Louis Stevenson
- Daffodils by William Wordsworth
